Frex Download Page

Download Frex15-060327.exe (full install) 7mb

Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP

There is not a drop-in upgrade with this version as some system files are required to be registered.

  • If you have made changes to your database, then copy freqs.mdb in the Frex folder to a temporary folder before installing Frex15-060327.exe. Un-install your earlier version of Frex prior to installing this new version. After installing, copy it back to the Frex15 folder, replacing the Frex15 distribution database file.
  • Save Frex15-060327.exe to your computer.
  • Double click on the Frex15-060327.exe icon to begin the setup program.
  • Follow the prompts to install Frex15 to your computer.
  • Send me a e-mail if you experience any problems. Ken
If you experience a DAX error, or a message stating library files are not installed, then download installtools.zip and unzip the contents into the Frex directory. Then run the file install_tools.bat to register the multimedia libraries used with Frex.

On win98se, you may get a message that the MMTOOLSX2 ActiveX could not be copied to Windows system directory, that is usually because they are already there from a previous installation. Ignore this message, Frex should run fine.

In an earlier version of the Frex15. The library tools were registered as Read Only files. If you experience an error message stating MMToolsX2 can't be copied to the System Directory, simply navigate the the System Directory (usually c:\windows\system) and delete the files MMToolsX2.ocx, MMTypesX2.ocx, and MMToolsX2.oca. Then re-install Frex15 and the problem will be resolved.
